When I first started working online, I thought I would be a millionaire within a year. I really truly did. I think there were so many different marketers out there telling me that I could do it that I totally believed it. But, I’m still not making millions, and it’s seven years later. But I see that still today people think they can make money quickly. Here’s a recent question I found on a forum.
Need Money Right Now Through A Simple Way? Online Work May Not Be Your Best Bet
It seems that people either think working online is a scam, or they think they can make money within a minute online. It’s interesting how it is all or nothing.
I think a lot of people think that online work is a scam because it takes a while to see the payoff of your work, and people think they should get the payoff right away. That’s likely because Internet marketers use the word ‘quickly’ to talk about making money online, but ‘quickly’ in relation to working online is not defined as days.
Quickly is a sneaky word because it gives the image and hope of right now, which is enough to raise people’s expectations of what is possible. I know it did for me!
Working online is about creating your own business, not collecting some money here and there with no credibility. It’s not simple, by any means. It requires commitment and work.
How Long Can It Take To Make Some Money Online?
Hands down, the quickest place I’ve found to make money online quickly is on iWriter, but as I talk about in my iWriter review for writers, it’s not that easy to make more than a few bucks in the beginning. So yes, you can make money within a week or so, but your check isn’t going to be for very much. And then you will have to wait for PayPal to transfer it to your account, which can take up to 4 days.
You can also join sites like UpWork or Fiverr, but you have to wait for your first job, and as a newbie, that could take a while. Then you have to wait to get paid.
You can start blogging, but there are so many elements to creating an income producing blog, that it could take up to a month before you make your first sale. Even if you put up AdSense, a new blog isn’t going to earn more than a few pennies a day – if that.
Note: You can check out Pinch Of Yum’s income reports to see how even an established blog only earned $21.97 in the first month of trying to make money. Just go to page 2 to see their first post for their income!
You could write an eBook and publish it on Amazon Kindle within a day, but the chances of anyone buying your book as a newbie are slim, and it will take a few months to get a check from kindle.
You can vlog, but that’s not going to make you a lot of money quickly. You earn money through AdSense and views, and it’s not something you can set up and do right now. You have to hit a threshold of $100 to get paid out from AdSense and then they don’t pay you until the next month.
Online surveys? That’s a joke. Do you really think big companies need to pay people to take their surveys? They would be emailing their customers and reaching out through social media for people to take their surveys for free. Plus, you are not going to see a dime – even if you did manage to make anything, for a long time.
I Don’t Want To Scare You Away From Working Online
You can make money online through various avenues. I’m not saying you can’t. I do, and I make a full-time income off it. But I’ve been working online for years. You cannot make money online right now.
If you really want money right now, I would find some jobs like mowing lawns or dog walking where people are going to pay you right now for the work you do.
If you really want to make money online, I would suggest taking some time to research what you really want to do online and then building a business plan that you can follow to get going. You can create a huge income online through both active and passive income, but it will take a while to build up your business.
